Garrett Park Nursery School Needs You to Donate Labor and Materials

For over 50 years, the Garrett Park Nursery School has had a home at Garrett Park Estates Recreation Center The center has a rich history. Currently owned by the Montgomery County Department of Parks, it was built, in large measure, with money and labor given by townspeople of Garrett Park.

The parks department is willing to transfer ownership to the school and we are negotiating a long-term agreement with the Town of Garrett Park and the parks department to ensure that the school will stay at the Garrett Park Community Center. Part of this agreement requires the school to rehabilitate the facility.

The project involves a long list of renovations and updates to meet code requirements, including replacing the roof and windows, reworking site drainage and retaining walls, making bathrooms ADA accessible, replacing vinyl floor tiles, electrical work, lighting upgrades, plumbing changes, HVAC / mechanical, carpentry and painting.

To donate labor, materials or services to the Save Our School campaign, contact our President, Gerilee Bennett at bennettgp@verizon.net or by phone at 301-949-8710.
